Several researchers representing seven universities from Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden met in Oulu, Finland on February 11th-12th as part of the kick-off meeting of the LEAF initiative. The aim of the “Learning Ecosystems and Activities of the Future” (LEAF) initiative is to develop and implement a common Nordic strategy for supporting new funding possibilities to promote synergy in research and development in the field of Technology Enhanced Learning (TEL) across the Nordic countries. The expected outcome of these efforts will result in practical initiatives to support a wide range of TEL related activities of high international quality. The LEAF network include research teams from the fields of Learning Sciences and Human Computer Interaction coming from the University of Aarhus in Denmark, Oulu University and Tampere University of Technology in Finland, the Norwegian University of Science and Technology and University of Bergen in Norway and Stockholm and Vaxjo Universities in Sweden. The LEAF initiative is partially funded by Nordforsk, the Nordic Research Advisory Board on Nordic Research Policy.
