Claudio Alvarez

Claudio Alvarez holds a PhD in Computer Science. During 2009-2010 he was a visiting PhD student in Computer Science from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. His research focus was related to the conceptualization, design and implementation of computer-supported collaborative learning software tools that rely on mobile technologies. The particular aim of his work was to develop applications that promote and enable active and participatory learning in classroom environments. During his visit (Sept 2009-May 2010) to the Center for Learning and Knowledge Technologies (CeLeKT), Mr. Alvarez explored how some of his current efforts could be integrated with other research efforts underway at CeLeKT in the field of mobile learning.

One of the expected results of these efforts has lead to the design and development of a system for facilitating modeling and implementation of pedagogical designs supported by mobile technologies across different educational settings and not only in the classroom.
