Osama Mansour

Osama Mansour is a Ph.D. candidate in Computer and Information Science with orientation on Information Systems at the Department of Informatics of Linnaeus University (Lnu) in Sweden since November 2008. He holds a Masters degree in Information Systems from Lund University since 2008 as well as a Licentiate of Philosophy in Computer and Information Science from Lnu since 2011.

His Ph.D. research focuses on exploring the use of Social Media and Web 2.0 technologies in organizations. The research mainly focuses on the use of Wikis for open knowledge collaboration and sharing. It seeks to understand the interplay between openness of wikis and organizational structures by examining the evolution of social structures that might govern wiki collaboration. The research is based on case studies at two large multinational organizations which are Consolidated Contractors Company (CCC) and IBM where Osama investigates the use of the wiki technology as a platform for collaboration and knowledge sharing amongst distributed employees across the globe.

He is affiliated with the Center for Learning and Knowledge Technologies (CeLeKT) where he participates in research seminars and other research activities to explore about the role of Social Media in different social and organizational contexts. He is also affiliated with the Swedish Research School of Management and Information Technology (MIT) where he attends regular MIT seminars and discusses his research with junior and senior researchers.
