Anita Mirijamdotter

Anita Mirijamdotter is Professor and Head of Research of Informatics at the School of Mathematics and Systems Engineering, Växjö University, Sweden. In this position she leads the subject’s research, economy, graduate and undergraduate teaching, plans the research education and supervise research students. She also serves as chair of the Växjö University Computer Science research board. In addition to own research she develops research projects, builds up external funding and research collaboration with business, industry and central authorities.


Anita gained her PhD in 1998 on participatory and appreciative systems design methodology that focus on subjective and multi-aspectual understanding of information in organisational settings. Her present research is founded on:

• design and management of dynamic organisational systems and learning environments;
• information and communication technology (ICT) impact on (or implications for) organisational processes; and
• interactive and human centric methods for need-finding, evaluating, valuing and learning.


Anita has contributed to more than forty conference- and journal publications, served as a referee in academic conferences and journals, and as opponent and expert in committees for appointments and promotions. She is a founder and board member for the international research collaboration in the Centre for Philosophy, Technology and Social Systems (CPTS) amongst Salford University (UK), Free University (the Netherlands), Potchefstroom University-CHE (South Africa), and Luleå University of Technology/Växjö University.
